The Spartan Warrior: Challenges

thespartanwarrior:

In each challenge is great opportunity. So step forward, meet the challenge, work persistently through it, and make the opportunity yours.

It’s difficult, complicated, inconvenient, and demanding. And you are wonderfully able to deal with all that, to create a valuable outcome.

There are plenty…

So I’ve been really bad about updating.

I moved back into my dorm. I had classes all week and I ate. Not good.

It’s been a god awful week. I can’t wait for this one to start fresh. I need to get running. I need to get to the gym. I need to change this body so that I can be happy with myself.

When I should have been running, I was on Facebook.

When I should have been counting points, I was eating chinese food.

When I should have been smiling, I was regretting everything.

When I was regretting everything, I wallowed in self pity.

This week HAS to get better.

"Everybody gets insecure. Nobody is perfect. So you have two options. You can sit there depressed about every little thing that’s wrong with you and be scared to live your life, or you can embrace who you are and be a mothafuckin boss. Life is too short to waste dissecting every flaw you have."

Someone once gave this poem to me and I just found it now. How appropriate.

dream big.

if there was ever a time to dare, to make a difference,

to embark on something worth doing-it is now.

not for any grand cause necessarily,

but for something that tugs at your heart,

something that’s your aspiration,

something that’s your dream…

you owe it to yourself to make your days count.

have fun. dig deep. stretch.

 DREAM BIG.

know, though that thing worth doing seldom come easy.

there will be good days.

there will be times you want to turn around, pack it up, and call it quits. those times tell you that you are pushing yourself and you are not afraid to learn by trying.

persist. because with an idea, determination, and the right tools, you can do anything.

let your instincts, your intellect, and your heart guide you.

trust. believe in the incredible power of the human mind.

of doing something that makes a difference.

of working hard.

of laughing and hoping, of lazy afternoons, of lasting friends…

of all the things that will cross your path this year the start of something new brings the hope of something great.

anything is possible. there is only one you.

and you will pass this way only once.

dream big.

So yesterday I slept over my cousin’s house. It was a lot of fun. We hot glued rhinestones on sunglasses: jersey style! I hope I was able to take her mind off the fact that it’s the one year anniversary of her father’s death. :(

Unfortunately, however, I ate poorly. I had Chinese food for lunch and her mom made while wheat pasta with marinara sauce and we also brought a cake.

What. An. Eating. Disaster.

But I got right back on my treadmill today, tired as I was, and walked (I was too tired to run) 3 miles.

Tomorrow I can make up for it though. Full day of skiing!!
